We stopped here while on a road-trip because I was hangry, late and it was open! I was reluctant because of the reviews & possible lack of vegetarian selections, but we opted to give it a try since it appeared to be almost empty. Overall it was a pleasant experience & gave us a good break from our trip. Location: Shopping center off Stowell Road & 101 freeway (west of the freeway). Parking: Private lot only. Environment: Decor was very casual w many 'garage' related signs. They let you toss peanut debris on the floor. Interior was spacious & could easily accommodate large groups. Staff: Our hostess quickly greeted us & took us to a comfy booth. We received excellent wait service by Lauren in dining area. Food: This is straight up American food with no frills. I was ready to be pescatarian for the night but to my surprise they had veggie burgers! Woohooo hangry mission accomplished! lol We ordered & enjoyed: -complimentary peanuts & soft bread arrived quickly -1/2 bbq chicken side chilli - side of baked beans - veggie burger w avocado & cheddar (yay!) - specialty root beer was awesome & recommended WC: Clean spacious, ladies room has a baby changing table.

Horrible service!!! The place was empty when we walked in and employees kept walking by, while we stood at an empty hostess desk, for (5) minutes. Each employee that walked by would say "someone will be right with you" and time after time nobody offered to seat us. We were finally seated once I began complaining to the sixth employee that told us that "someone would be right with us" It's sad that someone has invested their money into this business and left it in the hands of kids, no management or professionalism to be found anywhere near this place. If you are looking to enjoy a dinner out, look somewhere else. If you are looking to spend good money just to be thoroughly irritated by a total lack of professionalism, this is your spot.

i would give zero stars if possible, this place has the worst service ive ever experienced, we waited twenty minutes for a table, they couldn't seat us any sooner even though the place was almost empty. they had a party of idk how many but that was their main and only priority, they didn't show any interest in helping anyone else eating there. Once we sat they took a long time to take our order and we had to ask for bread and our app because they were taking so so long our server was the bartender and he seemed like he had been doing what hes doing for so long that he didn't care anymore. he was rude and in a rush to get us in and out. there were two other couples next to use and he showed the same uninterested service to them. As for the food, the only good thing was the bread, i had to send back the chilli beans because they were cold and the tritip sandwich seemed microwaved. Overall this experience was so bad i will never go back , my sister said she was going there tonight but i said all i could about my experience to avoid her having the same horrible service.

Rather interesting visit. Road trip pin from anaheim up to fresno, stopped in to eat. Salad was wilted, baked potatoes were not done, hard. My food wasn't even entered so had to wait for my steak, which when I got it, it was "butterfly cut" basically cut in half to hurry the cooking up???? WTF!!! Who does that to a steak?????

After reading the reviews I still gave it a chance to try it. My date and I walked out. As we walked in nobody acknowledged us or helped us we were just waiting for someone to come up to us to help or greet us but no one. The cook, waitress a guy who looked my the mgr. we got a bad vibe and walks out on Saturday evening and there was not a lot people either weird

The Roadhouse is in a commercial area near Costco, Edwards Movie Theater, a Red Lobster restaurant, and next door to Applebee's. We went to a movie which let out at 7:00 pm this Sunday evening. We thought, let's go to the Roadhouse for dinner. There was no one at the entrance to seat us. I stood in plain site of at least a half dozen waitresses who were waiting on a less than half full dining room. The bar was empty. After a while, I heard a man's voice coming from the bar."I'll be right with you." I looked over to the man behind the bar. I responded with an OK. Then, he disappeared out a back door never to be seen again. So, we left the Roadhouse; walked next door to Applebee's; waited five minutes for a table and had a fine dinner.

Last time I came here this was a really good experience. Today's visit changed my opinions about the place. They have really good food. Yet it's just not the right type. They couldn't tell the difference between a rare steak and a well done steak smh I ordered a medium rare rib eye steak when the inside was all red that its not medium rare. The 2 sides I had ordered were the soup of the day which was the loaded potato, and the French Fries the waitress specifically asked if I wanted my soup before or during my meal and I said before. 20 minutes passed and still no soup. The waitress was talking to the group behind us for an unnecessary amount of time. Not to mention that she had delivered our drinks without any straws so I had politely waited till she was finished talking to ask for the straws. So she went to check on the food and a minute later she come with multiple plates. Confused at first glance since I had asked for my soup before my main course. I had asked what about my soup. And she said I'll go check on that so she goes back in the kitchen and when she comes back she says I'm sorry we just sold our last soup of the day would you like another side. Which I asked for a salad for my little sister since she wanted one. Not to mention we didn't get the complimentary bread rolls till we had to ask for them and I never received my side of ranch for my fries smh. Not going there again. Sorry original roadhouse grill you guys WERE good. And the peanuts that were on the house were probably literally on the floor they were quite awful I had to go get another bucket.

My boyfriend and I are new to santa Maria. A friend recommended we come here for a good steak. The service was great. The drinks were great, and the ribeye was fantastic!! Thank you Anthony for a great meal on a Friday night!

Horrible customer service good food but extremely long waits for everything making it short n sweet

I've been here before and enjoyed the food (1 year ago). Something has gone wrong now. I ate supper here and ordered a sirloin steak and my friend a tritip. The tritip was of such low quality that I couldn't cut it. I asked the waitress for something else and she brought a rare (I asked for medium) rib eye. Same problem: as tough as a piece of wood. Never again.

Best sever/bartender EVER!!!! Priscilla was friendly and on top of her game. We sat at a table near the bar. She had 3 other tables and a few customers at the bar. She still was able to greet us a party of 6 within 2 minutes! Our food tasted great and was brought out promptly! Give this girl a raise!!!!

DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT!!!!!!!!! I have been to this restaurant in the past and found the service to be non-existent, and the food to be a little better than average, but way too expensive for what you get. I, on my own, would NEVER go here to eat again, but my adult daughter was in town today and we were in the neighborhood and she saw this place from across the parking lot, and wanted to go to the Original Roadhouse Grill for a late lunch. I told her that there other better places to go to eat, but she said, "Dad, we're here let's just go in." Well, we went inside and the first thing that I noticed was an offensive smell emanating from, I think, the bar area. The place wasn't full or even near full, but we still had to wait a while for them to find us a table. We were seated and waited and waited and waited and waited for someone to even come over and just acknowledge us. That NEVER happened! I was timing it on my watch and we agreed that if a service person did not come over to us in 30 minutes that we would leave. Well, guess what!! 30 minutes came and passed and we got up and on our way out some waitress came running over to us as we were exiting the building and kept saying..."I apologize" over and over again. We said nothing and just left and went to a different restaurant for our meal. This all occurred around 2:30 P.M., and the restaurant was not even half full. When you go out for a meal, you want it to be an enjoyable occasion. You will only find heartache at the Original Roadhouse Grill. Take my advice, Folks, this restaurant should be ashamed of itself!!!!!!

We stopped in to grab dinner, we waited 15 mins and had to find a human to seat us... No it wasn't busy.... Lots of empty tables, lots of staff walking around.... Ok so maybe they had stuff going on surely when we sit down it'll be better... Nope we asked for water while we looked at the menu and another 15 mins pass... We left... Could find someone to say bye too

Very slow service or no service at all, i waited close to 20 mins with my friend till a waiter finally came up, the person seemed to not care what we were ordering abd was in a rush. My friend and I ordered the same drink and they only brought one out and took another 5 mins or so bring the other. When we got our food it was nothing special, tasted like food I could just make at home. The waiter never really came around again but continued to help others around us. I understand they might be stressed or not having a good day but still have respect for the costumers coming in and just dont ignore them.

Horrible horrible ... If I could give it no stars I would. I'm not going to rant about all the things that went wrong but thumbs down and I most definatly will not be returning!!!

  • Ashley A.

Food is decent but the service is horrible. Walked in and the hostess was chatting with a waitress and didn't acknowledge us. When we were seated (next to the front door) we asked to switch seats because it was cold. We had not ordered yet and the restaurant was empty, but the girl said no. She didn't want to be bothered. We decided to go elsewhere.

Worst dinner in a while. Food came out all wrong when I talked to my waitress kaylonni about the issues she was more worried about bashing management and the restaurant then fixing the food. Pretty sad for an employee to do. As a past waitress she simply is the reason we will not return

Good size portions. You definitely get what you pay for when it comes to steak dinners. A cool spot to stop at if you are on the road from Norcal to Socal. If you are a clean freak this is not the place for you. Peanuts are given to you as an appetizer and the shells are thrown on the floor. It's just part of the theme.

  • Stephanie O.

This is our go to place for family dinners. Great servers and food. It's also a great place to hang out, watch a game and have a few drinks. Not a huge fan of the new night time bartenders though.

Stopped in after a movie for a late lunch. Place was pretty empty. We were greeted and seated promptly. Our server was attentive and brought us our waters and menus in a timely manner. I had the garlic mushroom burger ($9.99) and he had the original burger with Bison ($9.ish) While we waited we where served some warm rolls and munched on peanuts. NOTE THIS PLACE I A NO GO FOR ANYONE WITH PEANUT ALLERGIES! Our food came out and was cooked correctly. I asked for rare and it was spot on, he got his med. as requested. The burgers are served dry (no sauces) on wheat buns. We added some mayo and they where good. Nothing I would hop out of my seat over, but tasty and served their purpose. The wheat buns where good and added something to the overall burger. They have med. cut French fries which were quite nice. The server remained attentive and courteous. We will likely be back in again.

FOOD POISONING: We were looking for a new place to eat in Santa Maria and decided on the Roadhouse Grill. I ordered the prime rib which was expensive and portions were small. My wife ordered the combo ribs and chicken meal. She did not eat the chicken however she did eat the ribs. Approximately six or so hours later she was having extreme stomach pain and threw up her entire dinner. She felt much better after throwing up. After considering her symptoms it was clear that this was food poisoning and the culprit was most likely the ribs. I did call the restaurant the next day informing them of the situation. I was calm when speaking with the manager as I wanted them to know about this situation. He said he would pass on the information to his general manager who will give me a call. At this point I have not received a call from the general manager. I would not recommend this restaurant.

Thus far I have not had a favorable experience here primarily due to the service. The food is good, the bread is as described in previous reviews - good bread. There are many places where you can get the kind of food that Roadhouse offers, for the price, or less. The on-tap menu is generally Firestone Walker, like 805 and such...no drink specials outside of happy hour. Last time I was here I kept thinking...doesn't this place exist down the street...but better. Yes indeed, that place exists. Just across Bradley.

Okay where to begin.....my husband and I brought a friend from another country here to experience off track betting ....he had never been and thought it might be fun. We were there this past Saturday. Place was empty and we asked to sit in dining room and when the server saw the race forms.....the look let me know what kind of service we were in for. We immediately ordered two full racks of baby back ribs, two large appetizers, and three cokes. We told her to leave a menu because we were probably going to order more. Food came quick.......then nothing.....after almost an hour I had to go to another waitress to get drink refills. Our waitress who was goofing off in kitchen with cooks saw me and ran out and was nasty and rude to me about going to another waitress. She spent almost all here time in kitchen laughing with staff....you could see her due to kitchen being open to dining area. We wanted more food but she ran off again... Then 20 minutes later came to the table and told us we had to pay because she was going home and handed us the bill. No lie 18 minutes later she still did not pick up her money. We have up and decided to leave...we took bill to front desk wAited and waited finally she ran out from kitchen and stated "I get this at the table not here". OMG she was a waste of oxygen in this place. My husband and I are epic tippers and it takes a lot for us not to tip good. Only if she was alittle attentive , alittle less rude she would have faired so much better. We still left a decent tip....but it probably would have been doubled if she did her job at least alittle. Hope the time she spent flirting in kitchen was worth it. Also place was empty the entire time!!! Also to management we were there around noon or one and sat at a table near door. Waitress dark haired....ponytail... Maybe 5'5".....get rid of her!!!!!!

This is the worst place ever! The meal was hot, but tasteless. My plate came with a side of French fries "one of my favorite things ever", but after tasting theirs I didn't eat another one!! I don't recommend this place at all. Do yourself a favor, for great food go across the 101 freeway to Cool Hand Luke's instead!!

First time there with my wife, we stopped in for drinks and appetizers around 5:30pm on a sunday. The place was quiet (as expected for a sunday) the appetizers filled us up and were decent but what really was nice was the service we got. Amber, our server was on top of it. She was quick to bring our drinks and checked up on us often. That was nice. My wife and i were pleased with the service. I like to let people know when they do a bad job, service is big for me...so i will admit, the service here was great! amber...you are an asset to the company. We will more than likely be back because of you. Thanks for your service!

I had a great experience at the Roadhouse Grill yesterday. We arrived shortly after the restaurant opened and were greeted by the staff with warm smiles. Brittany was our server and she was very attentive and helpful in our menu selections. The grilled shrimp was amazing and I am a personal fan of the garlic green beans. I could probably drink the BBQ sauce, it is literally that good- a perfect combo of sweet and spicy. We even ordered one of their $1.99 mini-desserts which was plenty for both of us. The restaurant was very clean, the food was great, and the service was top-notch.

HORRIBLE SERVICE! we walked in and got seated but we were ignored by the waitress.. She saw us and even looked at us sitting but did not acknowledge us.. We didn't get offered any drinks or anything at all.. We just sat there waiting and we finally decided to walk out of this restaurant! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! Will NEVER go back to this place!!!!!

  • Marina L.

The portions are a great size and very reasonably priced. We had the tri tip, sweet potato fries, and boneless chicken wings which were all good. Atmosphere is casual and comfortable. The best part however is the service. Our server Katie was so sweet, friendly and accomodating and made us feel welcome.

    (4)
  • Emily D.

I would say the 2.5 star overall rating is a pretty good overall rating for this place. The food is priced reasonable, but the place needed more staff to keep up. The menus were sticky from probably never being wiped down, although they serve peanuts the floor had thousands of peanuts on the floor so it hadn't been swept at all on a Saturday night making it somewhat dangerous to even walk to your table. The server was friendly, and nice but had way to many tables to cover including the bar.

    (2)
  • Jennifer W.

We've been here 30 min and still haven't received our appetizers. All we ordered was potato skins and a salad. We asked our waiter if the food will be coming soon and he said,"I sure hope so." And went back to wiping down tables. We won't be back. Food was pretty good once it finally got here and we got salad and potato skins and bread all can together w no apology. We weren't given the bread until our meal came. If you come here just make sure Anthony isn't your server.

    (1)
  • Christopher R.

Service was good, potato was good, sirloin looked like it was cut from the anus portion of the cow and was chewy with a strange sweet flavor and the bbq sauce was way too sweet. Bison ribeye was great if a little overcooked.

  • Joshua G.

Friendly staff We got fast service! I ate at the bar with my wife and got to place a couple bets on the horses on saturday, was informed they do that every weekend. I will be going back for sure! 805 on tap.

  • Justine C.

Absolutely LOVE the honey butter and bread. That's about it though.. I've eaten here plenty of times and it's never been a bad or good experience. You go in, you sit down, you order, you eat, and you leave. The waitresses are usually prompt and nice but you get the occasional snotty one. The food is alright. I like the chicken tenders and the chicken salads.

  • Garett T.

Health food, this is not. I probably ate three times as much here as what I normally would eat at a restaurant! Still, I might as well have been wagging my tail here -- it made me happy! Came here with the fambly on our way back home from Thanksgiving in LA for an early dinner stop. Was instantly distracted that cracked peanut shells were all over the ground, but would soon learn we were about to contribute to that while waiting for food. It's all part of the fun here! I ordered a Whiskey Grilled Salmon, and ohhh myyy, it was delicious! Probably was coated with brown sugar and other toppings, it was a meal by itself. It came with two sides; I definitely had a set of garlic mashed potatoes, and then maybe cornbread? Had a HUGE blackberry lemonade to drink, served in a glass jar with sugar sprinkled around the edge like salt for a margarita. Mmm! I'd come back here, but first, make sure you have room in your belly. You'll be full for the next 3 days!

  • Joseph B.

Ate here 2 times in the past week. Both times the salads, rolls, honey butter, egg rolls, chicken and drinks were great. Service at the bar with Will was also great. Happy hour apps and cocktails are a pretty solid deal as well.

  • Maura O.

Decent food, service was fine, atmosphere is fun. I am never really in Santa Maria but when I have, I've been here a couple times. This place is a stop for a casual sit-down lunch, which far beats greasy, gross, fast food (which would be my other option when just doing errands in a town that I don't live in). This place is good for a burger and the like. I think many patrons chose ribs, not really my thing, but have at it!

    (2)
  • Steve T.

Good basic food. Nothing fancy but fine. Goood value for price. Service is great. Delicious rolls !

    (3)
  • April E.

If you like assembly line food then this place is perfect for you. From the over sized tasteless sweet potato to the bland ribeye, it was below average at it's best. Let's not forget the screaming children to complete the atmosphere. Can't see returning in my future. Something about hell freezing over. Lol

    (1)
  • Robert G.

Real sweet potato..... that was nice. My ribs were tender, but not good flavor. The petite filet was tough but OK flavor. My understanding was warm rolls came with dinner. Maybe not on Wednesday nights. I never received mine. Restaurant seemed dirty. Multiple unbussed empty tables. My table still had sticky drink rings on it. I would say it was "almost" a good experience, but it wasn't even that. Oh BTW, car was broken into while I ate dinner. Lock everything in the trunk if you decide to eat here.

  • James G.

Bad food and mediocre service. Manhattans from the bar tasted watered down. We ordered a 9oz sirloin and a 6 oz sirloin, both medium rare. The 6 oz was a typical inch to inch and a half thick and undercooked. The 9 oz was probably less than a half inch thick and over cooked. I took the 6 oz steak because I can handle rare and didn't want to return both steaks. It was so tough I could barely cut it, much less chew it. I doubt that it was even a "select" cut much less "prime". The 9 oz was replaced with a 6 oz steak that was under cooked again, but they put it back on stove and then it was fine. The waitress was slow and while polite, not very friendly or helpful. I will say the staff manager was extremely nice and did comp the bad steak. I suggest looking at other steak houses in area.

One word. Rancid! Why can't I give NEGATIVE stars?!

We are regulars at roadhouse and have nothing but positive experiences. Jacqlyn is frequently our waitress and she is wonderful! Quick service, great servers and good food.

Good was amazing best ribeye steak ! And baked potato with bacon &&I cheese is amazing! Totally worth it ! The service isn't that great though, snooty waitresses and you have to tell them 3 times before they get something right other than that it was all great !

Food: 1) complimentary bread: EPITOME OF WHAT GOOD BREAD SHOULD BE!!! SOOOO GOOD!! It tastes like butter in bread form!!! Seriously, you don't know what good bread is until you taste this!! 2) complimentary peanuts: I like how you get to toss the shells on the floor! Fun experience! 3) Southwest eggrolls: Kinda over fried but overall, good flavor 4) Tri Tip sandwich appetizer: the tri tip was served on that DELICIOUS bread so it was really good. But honestly, the tri tip was only ok. I've had better. 5) Blackened fish: comes with tasty veggies on a skewer and some tasty rice pilaf! The fish was ok. Service: REALLY SLOW but nice. Price: Reasonable. Half off appetizers made the meal more worth it. Ambiance: Typical steakhouse place with peanut shells all over the floor. Overall: I would totally come again for the bread, but not much else...

  • Garth W.

Our experience could have been alot worse if it wasn't for our server and the manager correcting the issue with our meals. I won't let one "bad" experience keep me from one of my favorite plkaces to eat when I'm in town.

    (5)
  • Laura Lu M.

The food was just meh, the service was just okay, and I won't be back. I agree with others....there is better food out there to enjoy, so why waste my calories? We had a Roadhouse in Kansas that we use to go to all the time that was the bomb, but this place just felt a little sad. Everyone looked like they would like to be working somewhere else. It just didn't seem like it was ran very well. I don't know, maybe they need new management, because I have been to a good Roadhouse; however, this one is not it.

    (2)
  • Ruben C.

This is definitely a laid back restaurant. Peanut shells all over the floor, don't expect a fine dining experience. But for what it is, its a cool spot. Food is decent, something you should try at least once.

    (3)
  • K. G.

I've never had to wait long at this restaurant, even on the busier days. Its your typical throw-peanut-shells-on-the-floor kinda place. If there are just two of you for a casual evening, you can go right into seating the bar area, or wait for a table in the dining area. Looks like they have a cover porch area for private parties. The bartender does a great Long Island. The staff is down-to-earth and friendly. I had the "lighter side" steak menu item, and the steak was perfectly done. I've gone several times before a movie at the Edwards Theater next door. Great location for that and a little shopping too.

    (4)
  • Debbie R.

The waitress who waited on our table tonight was rude and argumentative. We won't be back. The rolls were good, but the salad was brown and the soup was cold. Not worth the time or the money.

    (1)
  • Colleen W.

Our experience here was A-OK. We were passing thru on our way home from a nice trip and this Roadhouse did not disappoint. Service was wonderful. The rolls were better and fluffier than some of the Roadhouse grills that we have been too. Our dinners were great. My chicken was very tender....my only small beef would be that I feel that they over season their veggies here. My husband enjoyed his meal as well. We will definitely stop here again when in the area. This was a three and 1/2 star for sure. Since I cannot give half stars I am rounding up because the service was so friendly and efficient. I have to give credit where credit is due.

  • Adriana G.

Ate here last week the food was good but the service not so great so Two stars for the service ... Our server took forever and seem to be in a bad mood ..

Fingerprints all over my salad bowl...gross. Extremely slow service on a Wednesday night? Also thought we would have to seat ourselves. Won't be back.

  • Joanna R.

I'm being generous by giving this place 3 stars, I really wanna give them 2: however I don't know the full story behind their crummy service, they could of been short staffed, ie whatever, all I know is that it'll be hard to convince my fiancé to go back. So we walk in on a Thursday evening, no other people waiting to be seated and we stood in the entry way for a good couple minutes before seating ourselves in the dining area. Once seated we were greeted a couple minutes later. The waitress took our drink order and we also asked for bread upon arriving, she got the drinks pretty promptly but really lagged on the bread, it's really not that hard to grab a basket of bread and drop it off at the table, our waitress walked by a few times before bringing us bread or taking our order. So once she took our order it took a while for our food to come out, and once it did come out she had brought out the wrong salad for me and our 4th member didn't even get her food. Unfortunately my salad was made after everyone had finished their meals so I just took it to go. The manager removed it from the bill which was really nice but I ended up not even eating it once I got home and tossed it. The food itself is alright, it'll definitely take a lot to go back after this bad experience in a suuuuper slow day, can you imagine what it's like when they're busy. This was our 6th or 7th time coming here, and the service has never been great, but it had never been this bad before. Yiiiiikes!

    (3)
  • Christy P.

I got the bison ribs and they were pretty good. I really enjoyed the garlic mashed potato. The service was good. Our server was super nice and the bread was nice and warm which I love.

Total Disappointment. So, I'm originally from Sacramento and up there they have Texas Roadhouse...which I love! So, when I saw the menu, it was very similar... but it was Not Good At all! I had to send my cup of chili back twice -- because it wasn't hot and then it still wasn't hot! The rolls were not served hot -- and their "honey butter' didn't have barely any honey in it. My girlfriend had ordered the trio of 'egg rolls' which were really, really bad -- like if you've ever had the Southwestern Egg Rolls at Chili's -- they're the bomb... these were really bad and under-cooked. The only thing I can say that was positive? The Blackberry Lemonade (which was Sooooper Sweet, but we still liked it) and the manager? He comped our entire meal, because it was that bad. Am I going back? No way, not ever. Honestly? I should have gotten a clue when we showed up at lunch time on a Friday -- and the parking lot was almost empty.

This used to be a good place to eat, but now they added Horse racing in the Bar area, so there is where their interest lies. It certainly is not in the food. I have given Roadhouse far too many opportunities to clean up their act, but every visit it's the same... many of the servers are young and un-trained, so as a result we get bad service from them. They do have some good servers, but they are a little older and you see right away they know what they are doing. You'd think management would use those to train the newbies??? I have ordered everything from a Burger to their best Filet Mignon, and each and every time the order has a problem. Either the burger was cold and soggy from sitting on the counter while the server sat in the back somewhere, or the steak too well done with gristle and silverskin on the meat. Even when they re-do the order it's not right. They keep sending coupons, but I now just throw them away. They need to wake up, coupons don't bring in customers, good food and service does! If it weren't for the horse gambling this place would be out of business.

Well, the first thing to complain about is the peanuts, good golly they are salty and not tasty, almost like an old peanut. Just last night I was at the Wicked Shamrock in Lompoc and man those are great tasting peanuts they pass out in pails. Customer service was great, so no problems with that except that we wanted an order of Baked Sweet Potato and they didn't have it, so we had to order Sweet Potato Fries, but the waitress went ahead and gave us a free desert. I ordered BBQ Chicken and Baby Back Ribs Combo with soup. My soup was warm not hot. The chicken breast wasn't moist, but the ribs were tender and BBQ sauce is great. Other than that, I really don't think I will come back again. I'm really glad they don't have Country Music blasting away like they use to.

We stopped for burgers on our way through town one day after buying berries across the freeway. I had the pulled pork sandwich and the wife and daughter had the burgers. The servings were large and tasty and the service was acceptable. The pulled pork was unlike any pulled pork I have had before. The spices in the sauce overpowered the meat. Not hot, not smokey, mostly salty. I had a taste of the burger and that too was heavily spiced. Plenty of parking, easy access and decent food if you are not in a hurry and want something a little different.

Sweet rolls with honey butter are good. I ordered the roasted chicken and sweet potato side. The chicken was not fully cooked (my waitress noticed while I was cutting thru it) so she sent it back. Had to wait for that, but my sweet potato was very good. Chicken was okay nothing special. My husband had the Bison burger and said it was really good.

We had lunch here a few months ago. I think it might be the worst lunch I have ever paid for. We stood at the front waiting to be seated for way too long, we should have walked out. Server was friendly enough but the food was really pathetic, nothing tasted fresh, possibly all just reheated.

This was our 3rd visit to this place. Food was cold when it arrived. They gave my 4 year old daughter spoiled milk and didn't apologize, just took it to the manager who smelled it, made a face and then still charged me for it. We had to ask to get her another drink. Crappy food and service, will NEVER go there again. Would give 0 stars if it were an option.

I stopped here and ordered the tritip. When asked how well I wanted it cooked I asked for as rare as possible. I got this thing on my plate and you could tell in no way shape or form was this freshly cooked. It had the original charring on the outside then they had reheated it which had made that a burnt mess and on the open sides it had grill marks. As rare as possible and this thing was so dry and tasteless I could squash this thing with my fork and all of my weight and not get a single drip of juice from it. You couldn't pay me to eat what I was served. Here I was in the middle of crossing California and I was starving but couldn't bring myself to eat this thing. I ate my bacon potato and the bread I was served. Tried a slice of the tritip I cut from the block I was served and even attempted at eating just the outside where it should have been flavorful? so back onto the road after they comped my meal and I spent the next 2 hours of my drive on the verge of vomitting. I felt GREAT before eating there. I knew I should have stopped by AJ Spurs or even Applebees instead of this place but I like to check out new places so I ended up in this horrifically bad place. SERIOUSLY! YOU COULDN'T PAY ME TO EAT HERE! MY MEAL WAS THAT NASTY! I wondered why it was empty with no customers right around noon. I should have listened to that warning sign and stopped at the door.

i had dinner here twice and loved the 1/2 chicken dinner. i ordered mine all white meat so you get two breasts. it also comes with a side salad and one side which was the baked sweet potato. the salad was your typical salad-in-a-bag variety but the potato was awesome! it was a true sweet potato and not a yam which most restaurants serve you. the chicken was tender yet thoroughly cooked and their house BBQ sauce was sweet and smokey.

I really don't like giving restaurants bad judgments. But, the two times that I've eaten at this steakhouse, I've experienced nothing but frustration (with the food and service). A big factor that dissuades me from promoting this restaurant is that for about $10 more, you can get a REAL steak with a better atmosphere, at a place like Jocko's (which are far superior). If cost is a factor, I recommend Cool Hand Luke's or Texas Roadhouse. I had the prime rib the first time and to be honest, it wasn't very good. The cut was way overcooked and just didn't look like what a prime rib should. The second time, I had the sirloin which was cooked alright, but didn't have a lot of flavor. I believe that a real steak should be tasty just by itself. I think a great steak is something that you don't have to put steak sauce on for more flavor. Good things about this place are their dinner rolls and the strawberry lemonade, which are quite delicious. Overall, I'd say to spend a few more dollars and go to Jocko's.

ughh this place... My entire family came here (we were celebrating a family reunion in Solvang for the week) for dinner, approx. 30 people. It was an unfortunate event. My sister and the restaurant had set up a menu just for our family, fish, chicken, beef and a childrens choice. my brother in law, the only one who wanted something off their regular menu asked for the cheeseburger but the waitress said he couldn't order off the regular menu. why not? weren't they serving it to the other customers that weren't part of our giant group. I am sure the manager jacked up the price just for our party. I mean our group probably paid all of their employees salary for the month as well as the rent on the place. It looked like one family of two elderly people ate their a night. And for good reason. It was all bland. I chose the fish (at that time I was a pescetarian)....it came out dry. the chicken I heard from a few people was also dry. I felt bad for my family.

Food was good. Service a little slow. Free bread and peanuts. Generous portions, and reasonable prices. Would eat here again.

We have frequented this restaurant several times in the past and although the food and service wasn't outstanding, it was pretty darn good. The warm buns with honey butter are flat outstanding. We stopped in last week for lunch and the buns were still good but the food was really poor and the service was nothing short of terrible. We had one of the most indifferent, belligerent servers we have ever encountered. We will never go back again. This place is on its way out.

Come on Roadhouse, when your butter, bread and peanuts are your star attraction, you got to work on your menu. I'm all about streaks, and this isn't where I'm going to go get a great one. Sorry, but I'm tiered of these mediocre steaks... It's my pet peeve.

The central coast is fortunate to have other steak restaurants that offer a more home-cooked feel & taste, as opposed to to the "in-your-face" style that Roadhouse Grill offers. In any case, it offers a broad variety of BBQ meats to choose from. The taste is allright, and you will leave feeling full, although you might not want to eat too many peanuts (which they have no problem with you leaving the shells on the ground). Gets busy on the weekends, but no busier than Cool Hand Luke's, which is located across the highway; you may want to try CHL first if you are passing through Santa Maria and in the mood for a steak. Then again, I would still recommend one of the local steakhouses like Hitching Post in Buellton.

I have a mixed review. We have been going since it opened several years ago. Over the years, we feel that the service has gotten worse. Things we like. 1. the warm rolls with the honey butter. So yummy. 2. loaded potato mashers - the best mashed potatoes every. 3. great lemonaids 4. a good tri tip salad Things we don't like: the service seems a bit slow. There one server that we just cross our fingers we dont get. She does not seem to care. She has walked away when we are asking for a refill, and is amazingly unenthuastic. We still go for a the few items we like, but we have notice larger and larger gaps between our visits due to us leaving a bit bummed each time.

Mediocre food, dismal service. My family went for a celebration dinner, since we were out of town we did not know to avoid this place. Extremely slow, unmotivated service. Entrees arrived 15+ minutes apart. Drinks left unfilled for 10+ minutes. I did not receive my starter until well after all others received main course. My son- who ordered a Tri Tip Kid's Meal- received a Hamburger kid's meal. When I aksed the server about it, his reply told me he didn't care. They charged us for the wrong meal and made no appology for it.

Stopped in for Linner on Father's Day. There were six adults and two children in our party. Like most reviews on this joint stated it's nothing fancy. Just a casual BBQ joint in typical western theme. Our orders were taken promptly, kids were giving items to color, peanuts quickly arrived along with our drinks. Rolls soon followed. Warm with butter. Very yummie. Our orders came out promptly everything was hot and tasty. Portion sizes were good. The Ribs and Pulled Pork were very good. Tender and falling off the bone. No heavy BBQ sauces just smoked and tender. ended up not being able to finish. Took home a late night snack. Over all I was very please with the establishment and would definitely head back for another sit-down meal. Sorry to hear some of you had such a bad experiance. Well here mud in your eye. SIXPAC

I love Roadhouse restaurants but this one can really be bad at times. I have had a good meal once in a while. I finally broke down and contacted the general manager who blew off my input and defended his staff. Wow i sure hope he reads these comments. Food often lukewarm, some of the servers are nice but many ignore you. Too bad they took a good product into the ground.

We ate here again recently as we have a number of times before. Great food and great service. The ribs and grilled salmon, in particular, are excellent. Highly recommend this place.

Decent food, BBQ, reasonable cost for food and plenty of it. FREE peanuts that you eat and throw on the floor and someone else has to pick-up.

This is a country/Western BBQ restaurant with MEAT. Try the bourbon tri-tip or the pork chops if you're not sure what to get. Dinner en trees come with either soup or salad, and you get hot bread on the side (refillable). You also get to choose either vegetables, baked potato (loaded or not), or sweet potato as a side. Oh yeah, there's free refillable peanuts! And you toss the shells on the floor! So, if you're not allergic to peanuts, and you don't mind tossing peanut shells on the floor, this is a good place to eat American BBQ.

no reviews yet? alright, i'll start. this place is a typical bbq restaurant. there's really nothing special about the place. you walk in and you notice all the western looking stuff..like i said, typical bbq restaurant lol. the steaks we ordered came out like...meat. again, it wasnt special...but it wasn't bad either. before you order, they give you free peanuts to munch on. the cool thing with those is they tell you to just throw the shells on the floor. if you look around, you'll find nothing but peanut shells on the floor, so you can't be one of those people looking for cleanliness. my favorite thing about this place are the spring rolls (i think that's what theyre called on the appetizers)...the sauce they give you with that is unbelievable. good stuff! overall, the service is quick, the atmosphere is relaxed, prices are fair, so i cant really complain about the place. however, its one of those places you can live without if you've never tried them before.
